Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interest of others. -Philippians 2:3-4

Who are we?

In 1982, a Cal Poly grad by the name of Sammy Chu was being discipled by Bob Van Zante, a past Nav advisor. As Bob spent more time with Sammy, he noticed that Sammy was not only a gifted leader, but also an evangelist. Sammy led many people to Christ and attracted fellow Chinese students into Bible studies. As the number of Chinese grew in his group, Bob and Sammy decided that a unique fellowship concentrating on the Chinese population would be a good idea. They brought this idea to God in prayer, and this was the birth of the Chinese Christian Fellowship at Cal Poly.

Our vision is to help college students develop a deep and personal relationship with Christ. Just as Jesus focused on discipling a small group of people in order to spread his gospel, CCF’s focus is mainly in the relationship realm. Through bible study, fellowship and one-on-ones, we hope to spur one another on towards love and good deeds by developing close friendships in a family-like atmosphere. Though our ministry is geared towards Chinese Christians, we welcome anyone who is interested in learning more about Christ.
